Possible Low-Risk COVID Exposure
Illini West High School was sent the following email this weekend. Please be advised if you attended the Special School Board Meeting last week on August 10, 2020 there is a low risk exposure to COVID.
On August 15, 2020, the Hancock County Health Department was notified of a potential public exposure to COVID-19 at the Illini-West High School Board of Education Meeting held on August 10, 2020. Based on the information known and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, this has been determined to be a LOW-RISK exposure. There is no cause for alarm, the health department just asks that if you attended this meeting, you should self-monitor for the following symptoms; fever, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, and cough. If you develop any of these symptoms within 14 days of this exposure, please do the following...
- Stay home while ill (self-isolate).
- Contact your healthcare provider to determine if a test should be administered (do not show up at your provider's office, Illness Clinic or Emergency Department without calling ahead).
- Do not travel on commercial conveyances, such as airplanes, trains, and buses, until you are no longer symptomatic.
The Hancock County Health Department reminds Hancock County residents to wear a face covering when 6 ft. distance cannot be maintained, avoid being around people who are sick, wash your hands frequently, use hand sanitizer when you do not have access to soap and water, cover your coughs and sneezes, sanitize frequently touched surfaces and please stay home if you are sick.
