Scholarship Information

Madison L. Finch Memorial Scholarship

The Madison L. Finch Memorial Scholarship is open to students planning to use their career to serve others.  Applications can be downloaded here or can be picked up from Mr. Bliss.  Selected applicants will be invited for an interview in mid-April.

Minnie White Scholarship

Recipient must be a graduate from a Hancock County high school and can be used at any recognized college, university, or junior college.  Applications are due to Mr. Bliss by March 16 - please disregard the April 1 deadline on the actual scholarship.  Application can be found here.

Illinois Sheriffs' Association 

Applicants must be full time Illinois residents and scholarships are to be utilized at institutions of higher learning within the state of Illinois.  Students must be enrolled full time during the 2020-2021 school year.  Applications can be found at:  https://www.ilsheriff.org/youth-2/isaapplicationinfo/2020-2021-isa-college-scholarship-application/

Carl Sandburg College Foundation Scholarships

WIRC-CAA Scholarships

John Wood Community College Foundation Scholarships

Fred & Helen Gibb Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship is intended to be awarded to the student who has a clear vocational/educational goal and possesses the skills and abilities to achieve that goal. Students must be pursuing a vocational/technical education.  Academic performance in high school and financial need are not primary considerations in awarding this scholarship. Dr. B.I. & Flora Mueller Scholarship

Selection will be based primarily upon academic performance and leadership ability.  Students must be pursuing a career in the health services field. Financial need will be a secondary consideration.  Please download the application here, complete, and return to Mr. Bliss.  Please, no staples!

Ted Irish Memorial Scholarship

Selection will be based upon academic performance, participation in agricultural activities/organizations, and financial need.  Applicants must be going into an agricultural-related career. Please download the application here, complete, and return to Mr. Bliss.  Please, no staples!

Kyle Johnson Memorial Scholarship

Edith Blender Memorial Scholarship

The criteria for selecting makes no stipulation as to which element should be considered most important in determining the scholarship recipient. Therefore, financial need is considered as a determining point when all other items are satisfactory or better.  Must be a resident of Durham township. C. Dannen Latherow Memorial Scholarship

Criteria for selection: positive personality; academic average of B or better; involvement in school activities; involved in community & church activities;good moral character (willingness to include younger individuals in activities, considerate of others); volunteer/service activities.  Finalists will be invited to an interview with the scholarship committee. Lois Bradshaw Memorial Scholarship

Awarding scholarships to any student attending any institution providing further education of either a collegiate or technical nature.  Applicant must be from one of the following townships:  LaHarpe, Durham, Fountain Green. John Markey Memorial Scholarship

Compeer Financial Scholarship

The Illinois Odd Fellow-Rebekah Scholarship Award

For any student pursuing any post-secondary school or accredited vocational/technical school.  Applicants do need to be affiliated with the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in order to qualify.  Must be a resident of Illinois and a US Citizen.  Applications can be found at:  https://ioof-il.org/forms/   or picked up from Mr. Bliss.

Ursa Farmers Cooperative Scholarship

Recipients must be an active stockholder or a spouse, child, or grandchild of an active stockholder of Ursa Farmers Cooperative company.  All producers who sells grain directly to UFC or buys feed directly from UFC is deemed as a stockholder.  The recipient must utilize the scholarship during the 2020-2021 school year for a two or four year accredited college program. WIEC Scholarships

Who is eligible to receive the scholarship?
Six scholarships will be awarded to students who are the sons or daughters of an electric cooperative member who resides in Illinois and is receiving service from the cooperative at the time the scholarship application is submitted. A seventh scholarship – the Earl W. Struck Memorial Scholarship ­– will be awarded to a student who is the son or daughter of an electric cooperative employee or director who resides in Illinois.  Link:  https://www.wiec.net/2019/10/23/2020-scholarships-available/

Vietnam Veterans Local 947 Scholarship

Awarding scholarships for descendants of Vietnam Veterans attending college or trade school fall of 2020.  These can be grandchildren, nieces, or nephews.  A 3 paragraph paper is required along with the application.  Applications can be picked up from Mr. Bliss.

Golden Apple Scholars

National Defense Transportation Association Scholastic Awards

High school students in Missouri or Iowa planning on attending an accredited institution next year who are pursuing careers in business, transportation, logistics, supply chain and physical distribution.  Applications can be picked up from Mr. Bliss.

Amount:  $1,500-3,000                    Deadline:  March 1, 2020

Illinois Chemical Education Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to top high school science students from the state of Illinois who intend to pursue a post-secondary education.  Applications are available at:  www.cicil.net

Henderson County EDC Scholarship

‚ÄčMust be a resident of Henderson County.  Applications can be downloaded here.

Amount:  2 $500 scholarships        Deadline:  May 31, 2020

Kathryn G. Hansen Scholarship

Must be a current senior planning on attending an Illinois college or university beginning fall of 2020, preference given to students enrolling at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.  Student must be pursuing a degree in the office professional, secretarial, or business-related field.  Website:  here.
