IWHS Band/Choir Florida 2019 Itinerary
The itinerary for the Florida trip has been sent home as of Tuesday, May 14th. Please ask to see it and make sure your student gets it packed with their carry on. (chaperones, please see Mrs. Hartweg for your copy) Below is a copy for parents to refer to for this trip. Illini West Rocks Disney
Thursday, May 30
7:30 a.m. Gym doors open. Students go to the gym and line up
by classes with their luggage.
8:45 a.m. Lines will be dismissed to load the buses. NO ONE
Should load the buses before they are dismissed.
9:15 a.m. Bus leave, Florida or bust!
1:45 p.m. Lunch at Mt. Vernon (one hour)
2:45 p.m. On the road again!
7:15 p.m. Dinner at Murfreesboro, TN (one hour)
Friday, May 31
12:30 a.m. (yes, midnight) buses will stop to change drivers, I don’t think we
get off the busses, unless there are restrooms!
7:00 a.m. Breakfast at Wildwood, FL (one hour)
8:00 a.m. Mickey here we come!
9:00 a.m. Hollywood Studios!! We enter the park together and set meeting
spot, then you enjoy your day!!!!
7:00 p.m. Meet at “the spot”. Leave park together to find the bus
7:30 p.m. Bus pulls out back to the hotel at 8:30 p.m.
10:00 p.m. Everyone in their rooms, and you may not leave your room. Get
rest, it is going to be a long, but fun week! We need our sleep!!
Saturday, June 1
7-10 a.m Breakfast at the hotel is served
11:00 a.m. Meet your chaperone and load buses (have beach attire with you,
Sunscreen, towels (but not the hotel towels), etc. etc…
11:05-11:25 Pick up your boxed lunch and bottle of water, load bus
11:30 a.m. Leave
12:00 Arrive at Downtown Disney. Strawberry Lot, Circle Drive (next to
Cirque Soleil) Band students get off with Chaperones, noting that
this is where everyone will get back on the bus at. Chorus students
will on get on Bus 1 with Mrs. Hartweg. Shopping and restaurants is
what you will find here. Choir sings at 1:30 at the Marketplace Stage. All Band students and chaperones need to be here on time. You will leave together from this spot to load (Strawberry Lot) to get to the
buses for Cocoa Beach. (bus one will be coming soon)
2:30 p.m. Depart Disney Springs
3:30-5:00 Arrive at Ron Jons. You have 1.5 hours to shop. Be back to the bus.
We then go to the beach.
6:00 p.m. BBQ Buffet
8:30 p.m. Load for hotel, our home away from home!
10:00 p.m. In your rooms and stay in them. Get some rest…big day at the Magic
Kingdom tomorrow!! So exciting…
Sunday, June 2
7-8 Breakfast at the hotel
8:15 a.m. Meet your chaperone and load buses. Make sure you have Disney
passes with you.
8:30 a.m. Leave hotel
9:00 a.m. The Magic Kingdom! You MUST stay with the group now as we enter
park. We will why quite quickly if you haven’t been here before. We
will set the meeting spot INSIDE the park. We have to be
transported there. STAY TOGETHER AND PAY ATTENTION.
1:00 p.m. Band meets by the FRONTIERLAND Parade Gate, located to the left
of Splash Mountain to go backstage. Choir meets up with
to watch the parade. Choir stays with chaperones till parade ends.
2:30 p.m. Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade…” Here come the Chargers!”
8:30 p.m. Meet chaperones and stay with chaperones. Watch “stuff” like
9:30 ish or10:00 p.m. When it is over. Go to meeting spot with your chaperons.
It is crazy busy right now, stay with your chaperones, get to the spot. We will leave the park together.
11:00 p.m. Be in your rooms when we get back to the hotel. (pack and organize)
Monday, June 3
7-8 a.m. Breakfast at the hotel
8:00 a.m. Check out of your room with your chaperone. Then bring luggage to
the bus. (don’t load till the chaperone sends you)
8:30 a.m. Leave the hotel
9:00 a.m. Epcot! We will go in together and set the meeting spot.
6:30 p.m. Meet up at the meeting spot
7:00 p.m. Depart for HOME!
10:30 p.m. Last stop for snacks, ½ hour at the Flying J
Tuesday, June 4
4:30 a.m. Change drivers
7:00 a.m. Breakfast, 1 hour
11:00 p.m. Lunch, 1 hour (Mt Vernon)
4;00 p.m. Home
