2011-12 Scholarship Information

Americanism Essay Contest
All Illinois high school students are invited to participate in this contest. Cash awards are given to the winners in grades 9-11. Scholarship awards are given to senior winners. Essay length shall be no more than 500 words. For details on essay format and rules, please see Mr. Bliss or Mr.Dion.
Amount – Ranges from $100 cash awards to $1200 scholarships
Deadline – February 3, 2012
Hy-Vee Foundation Scholarship
Eligibility: Any high school senior employed by Hy-Vee who began their employment on or before September 15, 2011; High school senior sons and daughters of Hy-Vee associates who have a minimum of six months employment with the company as of September 15, 2011. Applications can be picked up from Mr. Bliss.

Elks National Foundation - 2012 Most Valuable Student Scholarship
Eligibility: Any high school senior. Judging criteria include: scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Paper applications are available from Mr. Bliss. An electronic version is available to download at: www.elks.org/enf/scholars

ABWA Quincy Charter Chapter Scholarship Program
Eligibility: 2.5 GPA, planning on attending an accredited college, university, technical school, or community college. Applicant must be seeking a business or professional career. Paper applications are available from Mr. Bliss.

KFC Colonel's Scholars

Illinois Electrical Cooperatives Thomas H. Moore Memorial Scholarship Program
Scholarships available to students who are sons or daughters of an electric cooperative member who resides in Illinois, or who is a member of an Illinois electric cooperative, and who is currently receiving services from the cooperative. One scholarship is also awarded to the son or daughter of an electric cooperative employee. Applications are available from Mr. Bliss

Glen Smiddy Memorial Scholarship
Any Hancock County college bound high school senior (resident or student) majoring in agriculture, agribusiness, conservation, natural resource, or other ag related course of study for the 2012-2013 school year, is eligible for the $500 Glen Smiddy Memorial Scholarship. Click Here for Application

Great River Friends Scholarship
Great River Friends Scholarships are given through Great River Medical Center. All seniors interested in pursuing health care occupations are eligible to apply. Samuel Rockhold Scholarship
The Samuel M. Rockhold Civil Service Scholarship is available to college-bound seniors of Illini West who are a resident of Dallas City or Lomax, IL and a graduate of the Dallas Elementary District. Henderson County Home and Community Education Scholarship
The Henderson County Home and Community Education Scholarship is open to Henderson County residents only. This scholarship is open to seniors who will be enrolled full-time in an advanced education program next year. Applications are available to pick up from Mr. Bliss.

1st Farm Credit Services 2012 Agricultural Scholarship Program
The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior who is pursuing an education in a career field that is agricultural-related or a field that will contribute to the quality of rural life. ABWA - Lindenwood University Scholarship
The American Business Women's Association, Quincy Charter Chapter Number 4020 and Lindenwood University are teaming up to offer a $5,000 scholarship to an individual who plans on attending Lindenwood University. Applicants must have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA and cannot be a Quincy Charter Chapter member or a member's dependent. Applications are available to pick up from Mr. Bliss.

McDonough Telephone Cooperative Scholarship (FRS & NTCA)
Available to students who are children of or under the legal guardianship of a McDonough Telephone Cooperative member. A GPA of 2.0 or greater is required and the student must be accepted into a 2 or 4-year post-secondary program. Republican Women's Club and Central Committee of Henderson County Scholarship
Available to IW male and female seniors. Applicants must be a Henderson County resident. A copy of applicant's high school transcript and a 500 word essay must accompany the application. Applications can be picked up from Mr. Bliss at IWHS.
